Everyone knows that freshly-baked cookies make the world a better place. Contrary to the belief that cookies demand a lot of time and ingredients, we bring you three of the easiest cookie recipes that will help you satisfy your cravings.

Choco chip cookies emanate the feeling of comfort. Whether it’s eating away our problems or breaking the barrier to make new friends- choco chip cookies are the key!

Flour: 2 cups

Baking soda: 1 tbsp

Salt: ½ tsp

Butter: 720 gms or 12 tbsps

Sugar: 2/3 cup

Eggs: 2

Pure vanilla extract: 1 tsp

Chocolate Chips

To make chocolate chip cookies, start by lining two baking sheets with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt and in another bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. To the latter, add the eggs, one at a time and mix with vanilla essence. Combine the two mixtures and whisk until properly mixed, then add the chocolate chips and stir. Heap the dough a few inches apart and put them in the oven.

  • If you want to bake crispier cookies, use granulated sugar and dark brown sugar will give a richer flavour.
  • To avoid the butter turning brown, melt the butter about 90% of the way and then slowly whisk it until completely melted.
  • To bake soft chocolate chip cookies is to slightly under-bake them- the edges of the cookies should look set, but not brown and the centre should look a little puffy. The longer you bake the cookies, the crunchier they will be.
  • While placing the dough on the baking sheet, roll the dough with slightly wet hands.

One thing that most people can agree on is that butter cookies exude the nostalgic feeling of our grandmother’s love. To relive those memories of childhood, follow this simple, three-ingredients recipe.

Flour- 2 cups

Salt: ½ tsp

Unsalted Butter: 227 g or 1 cup

Sugar: ½ cup

Egg: 2

Vanilla extract: 2 tsp

In a bowl, beat together softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Now add flour to it and whisk properly to combine the ingredients. When the dough is ready, wrap it tightly in a plastic wrap in the shape of a disk and refrigerate for about an hour. On parchment paper, sprinkle flour and place the dough on it. Roll it out and cut it into desired shapes. Place these cut pieces on a baking tray and bake them at 350F until slightly golden.

  • If the dough seems too soft or runny, fix it by adding more flour to it.
  • Not only does chilling the cookie dough makes it firm but also enhances the flavour of the cookies.
  • Don’t place the dough on hot baking sheets.
  • Instead of greasing the baking sheet with oil or butter, use a parchment sheet or silicone baking mat over it.

Now you don’t need to wait for Christmas to eat gingerbread cookies. Enkindle those festive vibes all year round by using this simple recipe!

Flour: 3 cups

Cinnamon: 1 tbsp

Ginger: 1 tbsp

Clove: ¾ tsp

Baking soda: ¾ teaspoon

Salt: ½ tsp

Eggs: 2

Powdered brown sugar: 2 cups

Vanilla Extract: 1 ½ tsp

Combine well cold butter (cut into pieces) and brown sugar in a bowl. Mix eggs, cinnamon, salt, clove and ginger to the mixture till incorporated. Bind the mixture well by adding flour to it. Once the dough is ready, flour a parchment paper and place the dough over it, then flour it and place another parchment paper over it. Roll the dough and cut into the desired shapes. Transfer these shapes to the baking sheet and bake until the cookies are set and the colour has darkened slightly.

Squeeze the dough while mixing as it will be slightly crumbly, and squeezing it will hold it together.

The thinner the cookies are, the crispier they will be and the thicker they are, the softer they will be in the centre, so decide the dimension of the cookies based on your liking.

If you are planning to decorate with gingerbread cookies with sprinkles, do it when the cookies are still warm so that they’ll hold in place.

“When life gives you lemons, throw them back and say I want a cookie!”
